Black Bean Spread
Serves 2–4
Ingredients
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp water or soup stock
½ cup cooked black turtle beans
½ cup hulled sunflower seeds
1 tsp ginger
¼ tsp garlic powder
¾ tsp dulse granules
½ tsp kelp granules
¼ tsp nori granules (optional)
Chopped parsley or scallions, for garnish (optional)
3 Tbsp mirin
1 Tbsp sesame oil, toasted
1 Tbsp tamari
2 tsp freshly grated ginger
¼ cup lightly toasted sesame seeds
Method
1. Blend all of the ingredients, except the garnish, in a bowl or blender.
2. Add more water and/or lemon juice to change the consistency toward soup.
