Sea Vegetable Miso Soup
Adapted from Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousens, M.D.
Ingredients
1 oz alaria, about ½ a Maine Coast Alaria package
OR 1 oz kelp, about ½ a Maine Coast Kelp package
OR ½ oz laver, about ½ a Maine Coast Laver package
OR ½ oz dulse, cut or chopped (about ½ cup)
(or any combination of the above four sea veggies; equal to one cup)
1 ½ cups water, heated to 118° Fahrenheit
½ Tbsp mellow miso
1 tsp fresh ginger root
Method
1. Rinse about 10 minutes, then drain the sea veggies.
2. Chop or cut into bite sized pieces.
3. Add to the warm water.
4. Dissolve the miso in ¼ cup warm water and add to the soup.
