Dulse and Greens Cleansing Salad
What does Dulse add to a green salad?
1. NUTRITION
Very small servings (7 g or 1/3 cup) of dulse increase major minerals like calcium and iron – up to double the amounts normally found in mixed greens or mesclun salads, as well as provide the complete array of trace elements.
Dulse in salads is mineralizing, cleansing, and immune boosting.
2. TASTE
Dulse adds a slightly salty, mineral rich taste.
3. COLOR
Deep red dulse compliments spring and summer greens.
HOW TO (Customer recipe):
Serves 4
Ingredients
1/3 to ½ cup dulse
Simply scissor–snip dulse into bite size pieces and mix with greens. Allow the salad to sit for 15 to 20 minutes. The dulse will absorb moisture and become tender.
If you must serve immediately, lightly rinse the dulse after cutting it, then add to greens and toss.
Reserve some cut dulse for a lovely garnish.
Reserve some lightly rinsed whole dulse leaves as salad decoration in the middle of the bowl topped with parsley.
Try adding purple onion, grated carrots, sliced radishes, tomato, canned chickpeas…
